This project was part of a 2014 Stream Channel Restoration Project with the objective of reducing nitrogen and phosphorus loads to the headwaters of Cow Bridge Branch. Biochar was added to the top layer of soil to retain more nitrogen.
Additional improvements needed to be made to the bioretention facility including slope stabilization, reconstruction of the riprap inflow channel and forebay, and installation of concrete curbing to mitigate issues caused by large quantities of stormwater being channeled to the tributary from the previous stormwater pond construction.
